Marriage

Oh blessings. I just read an article in Marie Claire. Here's the link for it. Article It shocked me pretty much. The basic premise is that women are getting married today and getting divorced in the same way they would start dating a man and then dump them.
Our culture today is in trouble. Marriage today is supposed to be a valued institution, not just something you can just throw-away. I think people need to be in relationships longer than they are before they decide to get married. If you're ready to get married after 4 months, you'll still be ready in a year or two. I don't want to have a "starter husband". If I get married I want one husband. For life. It's a different story if something happens to him and he dies. That is completely different, it's the idea of marrying someone and then divorcing them just because you're bored. You probably shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.
Let me know what you think about this...

Summer...

Summer's drawing to a rapid close so I thought I would take a few minutes to reflect back. I haven't really written that much this summer and when I have it's been mainly complaints. My summer actually turned out pretty well. Target: I think I learned to accept that Target and work in general is always going to suck unless I'm doing something I really love. And stocking shelves at Target is just not it. I won't be working again until Thanksgiving break. Hopefully by next summer I can have a better paying job that I enjoy more, but we'll see. I had some tough times with some of the executives but I'm glad to be finished.
Friends: I've made some great friends this summer. And it's actually all because of Target. My close-knit group of friends is Frank, Cheryl, Ian, Megan, and Philip. It's so much fun to hang out with them because our ages are so different and we're so different but we have so much fun together.

From left to right it's Frank, Me, Megan, Philly, Cheryl, and Ian.
Yes, some of them drink. But they're old enough. So :-P
lol.
We hang out pretty much every night and we refer to ourselves as an elitist group known as The Crew. haha. We have lots of fun together and the best thing is we can all hang out one-on-one and it is not awkward in any way. I love it. :)

So that's pretty much all I've been doing. Is hanging with the crew and working...hmm and THE CRUISE. haha.
This is beeeutiful St. Thomas. :) It was gorgeous. I took so many freaking pictures. Look on my facebook to check them out.

the end.
wow i'm insightful today. lol

So it's been a little more than a week. Hm.
"Something's getting in the way, something's just about to break. I will try to find my place...so tell me how it should be."

Isn't it amazing how much music overtakes our lives? Ipods are as common now as cell phones. Did you know that they make children's mp3 players with characters such as Cinderella and Dora upon them? I personally, love music. But...has music been taken too far?
I like being able to recognize a song by the first few beats or the first hint of the melody. I am a music lover. I have always been. I think I came out of the womb with headphones on.
Some music today though, sucks. Seriously, SUCKS. Rap is pretty horrible most of the time and so is rock. I pretty much don't even listen to the radio anymore because all they play is crap.
Music should define who we are as a people and who we are individually. Next time you're filling out what your favorite music is, actually think about it. What were the last 10 songs you heard? Do you have specific songs that you play on repeat? Don't just think about the street credibility your music choices may or may not bring you, think about what makes you, you. Who cares if you listen to something no one else does, that's what makes you who you are. Music shapes and molds our lives. We emulate ourselves after our favorite musicians. Don't believe me? Look around. Country fans wear cowboy hats, heavy metal fans wear black, punk fans wear tight jeans. The list goes on.
So think about the music you listen to for once and how it defines you. Music should say something to you. Sure, a beat is good, but it has to speak to you. Even without lyrics, music can have an incredible voice. Just listen once in a while.

So who else besides me is ready to go back to school? This summer sucks. Supremely.

1. I don't want to hear about who you like. I promise. I do not want to hear about it. Especially for hours on end. I'm happy that you're happy, but please stop rubbing my face in it. I am already hurting, and this is just making it worse. I want to be your friend, but this is making it so much harder for me. If this continues, I'm going to have to stop the friendship. This seriously SUCKS. And you dating someone is not going to "fix" them. You cannot fix her the way you want to.

2. Work. I feel like I'm in middle school every time I go to work. Thanks guys for embarrassing the crap out of me. I do not appreciate you spreading rumors about who I like. I don't like him! Get over yourselves. If we like each other, which we do not, it's none of your freaking business. Get a life and grow up. Please.

3. This kid at work is freaking bipolar. One second he's being nice and the very next he's copping a freaking attitude with me. I HATE BOYS. Bleh. I need new guy friends.

Okay. So I'm sure there's more. But that's what's happening right now. blehhh.
